Projects / RNAS Yeovilton – Re-Boilering & New Gas Main Phases 1 & 2

Conversion from Centralised HTHW District Heating System to Gas-Fired Local LTHW Heating Systems, including new Medium Pressure Gas Mains.

Convert and changeover 9 existing High Temperature Hot Water Heating Plant Rooms from centrally fed shell & tube calorifiers to new gas fired local Low Temperature Hot Water Heating Systems. This included running a large bore below ground medium pressure MDPE gas main across the site in Phase 1.

Plant rooms had to remain operational throughout the works, before the final changeover.  Owing to specific site conditions, one of the plant rooms had to be a prefabricated Packaged Plant Room manufactured off site.

The scheme is designed to provide a low operating and maintenance cost decentralised solution.
